Mike and Jade from the Wild Bird Sanctuary joined us for our February Pack Meeting and they brought a few friends: a Kestrel, a Screech Owl, a Barn Owl, a Great Horned Owl, a Falcon, an African Vulture and last but not least, Mischief the Raven.  During this hour long presentation we learn why birds of prey are important, and what we can do to ensure their continued survival - all while these very cool, very big, birds flew back and forth just inches over our heads. We also learned a few gross tidbits about each bird, like how owls barf up pellets that usually contain the bones from their last meal, vultures have pointy beaks to get at all of the good zebra rib meat, and Ravens adore eating rat tails....

I think it is safe to say that Cub Scouts and parents alike were blown away!
